One of the biggest changes is that the Two Left Welly Challenge will no longer feature as a weekly event.
However, I do intend to continue a weekly information blog about things “Scouting” and if there are any reports from camps and activities they will be uploaded here too.

Hi gang!
As this is the last TLW challenge before Christmas, I thought we’d have some fun. You will get TLW points for every joke you post as a comment – the more jokes, the more points AND possibly the win for the year! Easy!
Obviously there are a few rules:
1. You can’t repeat a joke that has already been posted
2. You can’t use swearwords
3. It cannot be offensive.
So, I’ll start

Hello everyone,
Apologies, but I just did not get a chance to set up the TLW challenge for Friday.
I was pleased to see so many hats being worn for the last meeting – so loads of TLW challenge points handed out!
This week, we will be at the other location (not the church) and will be plane making. Now, to make this interesting, I will give you three options to win points:
1. Bring a BLUE felt tip pen so you can decorate your model plane once completed
2. On the Airfix history – what was the FIRST model the Airfix company produced in the late 1940′s(http://www.airfix.com/about-airfix/)
3. What is the airplane promoted through both the “Help for Heroes” link AND “Project Airfix” on the Airfix home page (http://www.airfix.com/#)

IT’S TRICK OR TREAT WEEK. By this if ALL Scouts in the Patrol are present WITH HATS, then it’s a TREAT; otherwise the Patrol is subject to TRICK. Spread the word!

In two weeks time we will be working towards the Challenge Badge.
As part of the badge, we intend to produce a ten minute video/ The Two Left Welly Challenge (which is a 2-week challenge) is this:
to produce a piece of paper (or add a comment to the website, or email me) with your name and a useable idea for the video, in keeping with the Global Challenge theme of PEACE and LOCATION.

On September 19th is International Talk like a Pirate Day! So, ye scurvy dogs, here be the first part of the Two Left Welly Challenge for yarr. You’ll need to practice ready for mustering at the Troop Meeting!

The Second part of the TLW Challenge is to test your navigation round these web waters. Find the Troop Programme – print it out (or hand write it if you’re printer’s been eaten by the ship’s cat) and present it for the inspection next Friday!

challenges and TLW TLW, TLW challenge 11:37 pm
Over this term, we will be working towards the Global Challenge badge. Whilst most of the work will be undertaken on Troop Nights, this challenge is the one “outside of Troop meeting” to ensure that Scouts have committed to getting the badge.
By the end of September (so the deadline is Friday 1st October) you must produce some 2D artwork (or computer imagery) reflecting the theme of peace. The image can be up to A2 (420x594mm) in size.

If you are interested in taking part, you will need to register and get your entry in between Monday 4th October and Friday 8 October 2010. Sending it in will be your responsibility – but in order to achieve the challenge you must show it to a Leader before the deadline (or at least before you send it)
UPDATE TO GLOBAL CHALLENGE:
Just a confirmation to you all. You need to produce some artwork for the Global Challenge whether or not you want to take part in the competition.
To prove that I’m prepared to put some effort in too:
Peace Across the World
I drew this in pencil, then coloured using pencil and ink. I deliberately focused on not being specific about the shape of the people (apart from male and female) to reflect that we are all different, yet the same. This is further enhanced with the rainbow (all the colours of the spectrum embracing the couple and the world). I’m actually quite pleased with this!
